According to indy100, boxer Derek Chisora said people will see a “training fight,” rather than a real fight.
“I know for sure they are using 18 oz gloves and headgear,” said Chisora, even though the rules of the event have not been disclosed yet.
Speculations have sparked reactions on social media. “He must be joking, that would be insane,” commented one outraged user.
Others, however, thought this is a safer possibility for the boxers.
“If this is true, then why is everyone complaining?? At least it’s safe, and Mike won’t get seriously hurt, that’s what everyone wanted,” said one of them.
Netflix announced the fight between boxer Mike Tyson, 57, and YouTuber Jake Paul, 27, on July 20 of this year at the AT&T Stadium, home of the American football team Dallas Cowboys.
The event will be shown on the streaming platform.
